5 Nifty Innovations in Our New Men's Stretch Belt

Yes, it's true. BESTA is unveiling yet another new concept in men's stretch belts. What's different about this belt, and what are the benefits to you the consumer? Read on to learn about these five innovations and the purposes behind them. Or, skip the explanation and go straight to the product page.

1. Proprietary Hide-Strap Belt Buckle

Practically all belts have the same issue, what to do with the excess strap? There are strap keepers and belt loops to hold the strap tip in place, but could there be a better way? Introducing the hide-strap belt buckle, designed so that the strap exits the buckle underneath the belt, so the strap tip is neatly tucked away. It is an elegant solution that lends a clean outward appearance. As far as we can tell, ours is the only stretch belt in existence to have this unique functionality. What's more, the strap can also exit on top as normal, if you prefer.

2. Adjustable Elastic Strap Keeper

Admittedly this feature is similar to the strap keeper currently used on our second-generation elastic and nylon belts. The difference is that the elastic band is not fixed to the belt strap in one place. This allows the wearer to position the strap keeper further up or down the strap tip as desired. Although a built-in strap keeper was the most requested feature previously added to other belts, some customers expressed that they wished it were adjustable instead of sewn in place. A movable strap keeper works well for this belt to secure any extra strap underneath.

3. Nylon Strap Tip Covering

There has always been a bit of a trade-off with our belt strap tips. On one hand, we want them to look as finished as possible. On the other hand, the heat sealed edge offers customers the option to trim the strap tip to size and reseal it. For this belt, since the strap tip is hidden underneath, the exact length is less consequential, and so we decide to add a sewn-on strap tip covering. The nylon covering protects the strap tip and refines its appearance.

4. Buckle Curved for Comfort

Because this belt buckle was going to be a little longer (width-wise, if that makes sense), we decided to add some curvature. This was done so that the buckle would conform to the shape of the abdomen and fit more comfortably. The curvature also adds to the aesthetics, otherwise the buckle would be a flat rectangular block. This added design element enhances both the accessory's sophistication and comfort.

5. Designed According to Golden Ratio

The reason the belt buckle is a specific amount wider than its height, is because it was designed with the Golden Ratio in mind. This ratio, expressed as the number 1.618, has been considered an ideal proportion for centuries. There are many mathematical applications, but some examples this ratio in nature are the length of the lower arm to the upper arm, the distance between facial features, and so forth. Regardless, one doesn't need to know all the underlying reasons why to simply appreciate a well-proportioned belt buckle that looks good when worn. Compare that to many generic thermoplastic buckles out there that are square-shaped or look like something used for equipment straps.

In Conclusion

Not only is our newest belt stretchable, which is unconventional in itself, it also incorporates five beneficial innovations. While the original Betta Belt is a tried-and-true fan favorite, perhaps our new hide-strap stretch belt will earn a place in your wardrobe. As always, step on the path to enlightenment and get your BESTA belt today.

  • James, the new hide-strap belt is currently available only in black.

Dennis, the strap tips can be resealed with a flame (e.g. a lighter). Simply run the flame carefully along the edge until the threads melt together. The warm seal can be further smoothed and by pressing between two flat surfaces.

  • How can I seal the end of the belts I already own? I cut them to size but over time, the edge has become frayed.
